Submitting a portfolio to your dream program, job, or college/university can be daunting. This course will guide you through the process. I will use my own high school portfolio to go through its strengths and weaknesses as well as going through general guidelines for do's and don't's in areas of order, selections, variety, style/personality, theme, technical skill, etc. You will get individualized feedback on how to improve the order of your works and actively curate your portfolio so it tells a story and showcases your talent.
I submitted an art portfolio in my college applications and have helped other students through the process in various internships/jobs as an art teacher and mentor. I also developed a four-week course curriculum on portfolio building with theories rooted in art history, psychology, and multimodal literacy.
Have your portfolio readily accessible either in physical or electronic form. It might be helpful have pen/paper to take notes.
